LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood-ul-Rasheed on Friday submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly over the strike by some DMG officials after the arrest of LDA’s former DG Ahad Khan Cheema.

In the resolution, the Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly submitted that attitude of bureaucracy after the arrest of Ahad Khan Cheema was a matter of great concern and urged officials not to become a tool in the hands of the Punjab government to hide its corruption. He also submitted that action had also been taken against bureaucrats in Sindh and other provinces but nothing such happened there but for the first time in the history, bureaucracy was acting as a political party.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary meeting of Opposition members chaired by Mian Mehmood-ul-Rasheed decided to lodge a protest against the Punjab government from Monday over the prevailing situation in the bureaucratic circles after the arrest of Ahad Cheema.

flayed: Pakistan People's Party member federal council and former MPA Dr Zia Ullah Khan Bangash has said the attitude of DMG officials after the arrest of LDA's former DG Ahad Cheema is astonishing. In a statement issued Friday, Dr Bangash said civil servants under the law are supposed to serve the nation but an action by NAB had infuriated them. Moreover, he said the elevation of an arrested and under interrogation official Ahad Cheema from grade 19 to 20 was also very surprising.
