Two terror suspects arrested, explosives seized

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorims Department, Faisalabad, claimed to have foiled a terrorism plan with the arrest of two terrorists of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and seized explosives from their custody on Friday.

A source informed CTD officials that two terrorists of the proscribed organisation, with arms and explosives, were present on Sargodha Road near a PSO filling station in Faisalabad. The CTD personnel reached there and arrested them. There were identified as Wajahat Ullah and M Ashraf. They were on their way to attack the personnel and office of a law enforcement agency. Explosives to make an improvised explosive device and pistols were seized from them. A case has been registered by the Faisalabad CTD police station.

cheque: Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad awarded a cheque for Rs 1.9 million to the widow of a traffic police constable as a financial assistance from the department. MPA Abdul Mannan was also present on the occasion. The contable, Muhammad Aslam, was killed in a traffic accident.

He had served in the City Traffic Police for a long time. The CTO said the force would never forget his services. rewarded: DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf awared Rs 10,000 in cash and CC-II certificate to the moharar of Faisal Town police station who had arrested the accused of killing two lawyers at Sessions Court.

The DIG said Moharar Abdu Bakar Sidique had given a message to entire force not to hesitate even from sacrificing their lives for the protection of the lives and properties of people. Police exam: Lahore Police have issued the schedule for B-1 list exam which will be held at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines on February 25. The canidates can submit their applications till 6pm today (Saturday).

Exapt: As a result of the efforts of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab, an expatriate Pakistani woman has got the possession of her house worth Rs 3 million in a housing society.

OPC Vice-Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said that a Kuwait based overseas Pakistani woman, Shehnaz Begum, had lodged a complaint with the OPC that she purchased a house in a private housing society of Lahore in 2012 and made all the payment for it but she had yet to get its possession. The OPC officers said an OPC team contacted the administration of the housing society and ensured provision of the posession of the house to the woman.

arrested: The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff arrested a man carrying a Rs 0.4 million head money. The arrested criminal identified as Nadeem Asif was involved in murder, robbery, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes.

Meanwhile, the City division investigation police claimed to have arrested six criminals involved in murder and theft cases. Misri Shah Homicide Unit arrested a person, Abbas, on charges of killing one Suleman Rasheed in the Shadbagh area. Ravi Road police arrested five alleged thieves, identified as Naveed, Azam, Nasir, Liaqat and Akram. Police also recovered valuables and illegal weapons from their possession.

monitoring: The SP Mujahid and Dolphin has claimed that all the entry and exit points of the City would be monitored online. He said that modern cameras had been installed at all pickets in this regard. He said that all the pickets had been linked with the online monitoring system.
