LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education (SH&ME) Kh Salman Rafique visited the Punjab Institute of Mental Health Lahore (PIMH) on Thursday and inaugurated an auditorium and upgraded kitchen in the hospital.
According to a handout issued here, Executive Director of the institute Dr Nasir Mehmood Bhatti informed the minister that there was no auditorium in the hospital for organising training workshops, seminars and patients case conference. He said an old building has been renovated at a cost of Rs 600,000 only and converted into auditorium with sitting capacity of 200 people. Dr Nasir said that it would facilitate to organise workshops, seminars and could also be utilised for organising recreational events for the patients. Kh Salman inspected different portions of the kitchen and appreciated the hospital administration for making appropriate arrangements and keeping the premises neat and clean. Dr Nasir Mehmood briefed the minister and said 1,400 patients are residing in the institute and for them good quality food is being prepared.
