TCKP stall in Prague fair attracts visitors, tourists

PESHAWAR: The stall set up by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) at the 27th International Holidays Fair at Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, attracted a large number of visitors and tourists.

The visitors evinced a keen interest in the tourist attractions and scenic sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After briefing, many visitors expressed their desire to visit the marvelous destinations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan Ambassador to Czech Republic Dr Israr Hussain also attended the event and extended all-out help in establishing the stall at the fair. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Secretary Sports, Tourism, Culture, Museums, Archaeology and Youth Affairs, Babar Khan, said the department had established the stall to introduce the scenic sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and boost tourism in the province by luring more tourists.

He said the 27th International Holidays Fair in Czech Republic was the best opportunity to showcase the tourism potential and attract foreign tourists to the province. “The event is also a great occasion to showcase the soft image of Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the outer world that peace had been restored and the tourists can visit any place of their choice in the province,” the official said.

He said the TCKP team highlighted salient features of the cultural and tourist resorts through video documentaries, pictures, brochures and posters. The visitors were informed that 70 percent of tourist resorts were located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the foreign tourists can now visit any place without any restriction and obtaining Non-Objection Certificate. Over 50 embassies and travel agencies have set up stalls at the fair showcasing the cultural and tourism potential of the respective countries.
