Mysticism base of peace, harmony

Speakers at three-day international conference at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) urged followers of world religions to work hand in hand for global peace and expressed that mysticism is the base of peace and harmony in any society.
According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, LCWU’s Persian Department (Ferdowsi Chair) with collaboration of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, Cultural Centre of Islamic Republic of Iran, Lahore and Muslim Institute organised the event on the title of “The Role of Mysticism in Establishing Harmony and Peaceful Coexistence”.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Uzma Qureshi in her address welcomed foreign and local guests and highlighted the importance and role of mysticism in today’s world. She declared that Mysticism and Sufism have been instrumental in shaping the esoteric landscape of Sub-Continent. She also appreciated Persian Department, Ferdowsi chair on organising such a conference and bringing together the scholars of different culture and countries on a same platform of mysticism.
Head Of Persian Department Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, while sharing the details of the conference explained that so many articles were received from various countries such as Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Tajikistan and India and only the writers of selected articles have been invited. Iranian Cultural Centre Director General Razai Fard, in his address, highlighted the depth and strength of Iran-Pakistan cultural, historical, religious relations and declared that mysticism is the binding force among different culture and boundaries.
