A man accused of raping his six-year-old stepdaughter was sent to police custody on a four-day remand by the judicial magistrate (Malir) on Tuesday.
The investigation officer presented the accused Sajjad in court and informed that an FIR had been registered against him by wife, whose daughter he had raped last week. According to the IO, an initial medical report had confirmed that Sajjad was involved in the rape of the minor girl.
He said a final medical report would further confirm the rape allegation and requested the court to send Sajjad on a 14-day remand so that police could interrogate him and get more medical tests conducted on him.
The court, however, granted four-day physical remand of the accused. According to the case details, the complainant had told police that she had married Sajjad two years ago and she and her daughter from her previous husband lived with them.
She further said that on Sunday she had gone somewhere and left her daughter with Sajjad. But when she came back, she found the girl crying and bleeding.
She was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, which referred her to National Institute of Child Health. The minor’s injuries were so severe that a surgery had to be performed on her.

A 30-year-old man’s body bearing torture marks was found at the Northern Bypass after a passer-by informed the police about it. Mochko police station’s SHO Babar Hameed said the body was discovered near the Baldia Lucky Ramp.
