ISLAMABAD: Two British nationals will record their statements with the Accountability Court (AC) through a video link from the Pakistan High Commission in London on February 22 in Avenfield Apartments supplementary corruption reference.
The two British nationals are Robert W Radley and Akhtar Raja. The Accountability court (AC) through its February 15 order has directed the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia to produce the original record of investigation on February 22, as it was necessary for recording the statements of prosecution witnesses.
A NAB prosecutor on Feb 15 contended before the court that the original record was necessary for recording the evidence that may be requisitioned through Wajid Zia. The court in its order said that “Notice in this regard be issued to the concerned head of the JIT to bring record for the said purpose”.
Radley is a forensic expert who had revealed that the trust deed that Maryam Nawaz had submitted to the Supreme Court was a fake, as it was scripted in Calibri font that was not in the market in 2006. Akhtar Raja is the head of a British law firm that had facilitated the JIT in verification of the document. Akhtar Raja is said to be a nephew of Wajid Zia.
