Man shot dead on doorstep

LAHORE: A 25-year-old man was shot dead at his doorstep by unidentified suspects in the Harbanspura police limits on Monday.

The victim was identified as Muhammad Mudassar, a resident of Amir Town. Police said the victim was standing in front of his house when some unidentified suspects opened fire. Police said the victim had contracted a love marriage and it is being suspected he has been killed for honour. Police removed the body to morgue.

DIES ON ROAD: A 22-year-old man died in a road accident in the Factory Area police limits on Monday. The victim identified as Muhammad Abid, a resident of Badami Bagh, was on his way on a bike and as he reached Walton Road Bridge, he lost his control over the bike and collided with the wall. As a result, he received head injury and died on the spot. Police removed the body to morgue.

ARRESTED: Kahna police have arrested an accused person who had killed a three-year-old kid in the street while cleaning pistol. The accused person has been identified as Chabba Gujjar.

expat: Due to the efforts of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, an expatriate Pakistani has succeeded in getting back his Rs142 million.

OPC Vice Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said Muhammad Shoaib, settled in UK, lodged a complaint that he paid Rs 142 million in 2015 to a party for investment.

According to the agreement, the party was supposed to pay profit but it had failed to do so for the last three years. This complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis Committee (DOPC) Lahore. The members of DOPC, especially Additional DG OPC, DIG Agha Yousaf made efforts and at last the party handed over cheques of Rs 142 million to Muhammad Shoaib.
