Destitute girls given scholarships in Khyber Agency
BARA: The Khadimul Khalq Foundation (KKF) has awarded 92 scholarships to the destitute girl students belonging to Khyber Agency.
The foundation, which is a civil society organisation, works for educating the youth and peace in Federally Administered Tribal Areas awarded the scholarships under the National Testing Service-KKF scholarship programme.
The scholarship comprised of school fee, uniform, shoes, bag, books and stationery and pocket money. Chairman of Khadimul Khalq Foundation Farooq Afridi told journalists the scholarship programme was framed to provide quality education to the destitute children in the war-affected Khyber Agency.
“No society can prosper without providing quality education to girls. I believe the educated females can bring about a better positive change in the society than males,” Farooq Afridi said, deploring the youth had been deprived of basic rights of education in prolonged militancy for 15 years.
The Khadimul Khalq Foundation chief lamented that there was no girls degree college in Bara tehsil.
