PAKISTAN Muslim League (Functional) President, Pir Sibghatullah Rashidi (Pir Pagara), called on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq at Mansoora on Monday.
He was accompanied by the central leaders of his party, including Pir Sadruddin Rashidi and Muhammad Ali Durrani. Talking to the media after the meeting, Sirajul Haq said JI and PML (Functional) had common viewpoint on important political issues and both wanted the supremacy of Constitution, the rule of law, and a strong federation. He said law and order in Sindh was deplorable and the life of the people was not secure, adding that until there was rule of law, the country could not develop. He said Pir Pagara had agreed to JI agenda for building an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Pir of Pagara said his late father had close relations with the JI leadership and he was in Mansoora to strengthen the ties. He said, unfortunately, most of the political leaders talked of their own parties but nobody talked about strengthening the federation. Some politicians had formed their own groups within their parties, he added. He said it was a high time that the politicians rose above party considerations and seriously thought of pulling the country out of the present crisis and solving the people’s problems.
He said all state institutions in Sindh had been ruined and none could function independently. If the situation was not brought under control, the country could be facing a storm.
