Illegal water hydrant operating at Tarlae
Islamabad: Long before the start of the summer season the residents of Tarlae area have submitted a complaint to the civic authority about an illegal water hydrant being operated there on commercial basis.
According to the details given in the written complaint submitted to the water directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), an illegal water hydrant has started operations at plot no 48, street 5, P&V Scheme Tarlae.
It pointed out that the private tankers that sell water at high rates are being seen coming regularly to this hydrant to get water. This kind of activity can badly affect the underground water bed that has already been disturbed due to excessive boring in the area. It is feared that if appropriate measures are not taken the residents of Islamabad would be left with very low-level waterbed after about a decade. The water conservationists have also warned that underground water level is decreasing year by year due to which no more tube wells should be established in the capital city.
