RDA seals, demolishes illegal construction

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) demolished three under construction buildings in the residential area of a private housing society at Adyala Road and sealed its booking office. The authority also sealed another an under construction building in Fazal Town, Mauza Chaklala, Airport Road, says a press release.

Following directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division/Director General (DG) RDA Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, RDA’s Building Control Wing has been actively conducting continuous operations against illegal commercial cum residential construction activities including plazas/shops, schools and other illegal land use encroachments within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city.

Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, Building Control’s staff including Superintendent Building Control, Building inspectors and others carried out operation Adyala Road and Fazal Town, Mauza Chaklala, Airport Road, demolished three under construction buildings, sealed a booking office and also sealed an under construction building.

The owners of properties Rai Shakeel Ahmad, Sheikh Wasif and Muhammad Hammad constructed illegal residential buildings in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2007.
