Meezan, DGS advance inT20Cricket

LAHORE: Meezan Bank, DGS, Nestle and Descon won their respective matches in the Sabroso presents Pepsi Twenty20 Cricket Gala being played under the auspices of CSP here at different grounds.

In the first match of the day, Meezan Bank outclassed Wateen by 8 wickets. Batting first, Wateen could score 83 runs which Meezan easily achieved for the loss of just 2 wickets. Salman Ahmad emerged as top scorer with 58 runs. DGS defeated 3D Modeling by 3 runs in a thrilling encounter of the day. DGS, batting first, set a decent target of 190 runs with Adeel hitting stylish 86 and Umar 48. For 3DM, M Siddique bagged four wickets. 3DM though replied strongly, yet they fell short of just 3 runs. Nestle beat United Bank Limited (UBL) by 11 runs. Nestle posted a huge total of 197 runs with Nauman smashing 64 runs and Hamid Hayat 32. In reply, UBL could score 186-7 and fell short of 11 runs. Nauman scored 64 for UBL but his efforts couldn’t bear fruit for his team.

In the fourth and last match of the day, Descon proved too hot for Abacus and outclassed them by 60 runs. CSP chief organiser Abdul Suboor Khawaja has said that all the matches were organized in a very cordial environment in which the different players performed exceptionally and helped their teams win crucial matches.
