LAHORE: There is an addition of an act in the queue sheet of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) opening ceremony that would mesmerize the fans with Sachal Ensemble which would also present a powerful rendition of the National Anthem.
The annual T20 competition featuring emerging and established Pakistani players along with several international ones, is all set to return with its third edition later this month. More to the point, the upcoming edition will continue as a platform where the best of cricket meets the best of entertainment. Though we have seen some international cricketers playing in Pakistan (in the 2017 World XI tour of Pakistan as well as the coming of Zimbabwean cricket team), by and large Pakistan continues to play international cricket overseas on grounds of security issues.
It is for this reason that PSL is so important because it brings hope that we are inching towards a time when matches can be held in the country in peaceful fashion. And this year the PSL final is scheduled to take place in Karachi, a city that hasn’t seen international cricket since 2009.
Apart from the presence of several celebrities, as has been witnessed in the last two editions, this year’s PSL will be marked by an opening ceremony that will feature a glorious display of fireworks and several worthwhile performances.
