PSQCA seeks industry's help
KARACHI: The business community should help improve the standardisation of local products to ensure safety, cost efficiency, consistent delivery, and compliance, an official said on Wednesday.
“About 50 more experts have been taken onboard to improve the performance of the Pakistan Standards & Quality Authority (PSQCA),” Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, director general PSQCA, said speaking at a Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI).
“There are 181 technical committees of the authority for the formation and review of standards and business community is always welcome to join those bodies.”
Siddiq said being a member of World Trade Organisation, Pakistan was required to implement uniformed standards for the entire country.
Tariq Malik, president KATI, said the PSQCA was a vital institution not only for the healthy business environment but also for economic growth of the country.
“The business community is always ready to play its role for implementation of standards and other laws,” Malik said.
