LAHORE: Lahore Police have promoted 68 head constables to the rank of ASI. The 12th departmental promotion board headed by SSP Admin Rana Ayaz Saleem and SSP Operations Muntazir Mehdi approved the promotions. Rana Ayaz said the promotion board was arranged on the direction of Lahore CCPO and the promotions were according to the merit policy. Muntazir Mehdi congratulated the promoted officers and asked them to fulfil their duties with passion and commitment.
hit to death: A 30-year-old man was crushed to death in Kot Lakhpat police limits here on Monday. The victim was identified as Yamin of Atari Darbar. He was on his way home when, near Chungi Amar Sadhu, a speeding truck hit him to death. The truck driver fled the scene.
INJURED: Six people including two girls received injuries in rain-related road accidents. In Gulberg, a speeding bike slipped and hit two girls who were crossing a road. As a result, biker Ashraf, Zahida and Munazza received injuries. The victims were rushed to hospital. Separately, a rickshaw overturned due to over speeding in Shahdra. As a result, driver Amjad and passengers Afzal and Sher Ali received injuries.
PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested three dacoits and recovered illegal arms, cash and mobile phone after an encounter. Reportedly, PHP post 96/GB suspected a motorcycle and tried to stop them. The bike riders opened indiscriminate fire on PHP team. The team chased the miscreants. After some distance the accused left their motorcycle and hid in a nearby field.
OPC: Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab has reclaimed his Rs1.6 million amount from a housing society.
Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice-Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said Muhammad Rashid currently settled in USA lodged a complaint that he bought a 4.5 marla house in a private housing society of Lahore in 2008. He paid Rs2.7 million but the society administration had not handed over the house to him. Neither the administration paid his amount back.
