Viqar-un-Nisa college students highlight violation of women rights

International women day was celebrated here on Saturday at Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa post graduate college Rawalpindi. The ceremony was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Many renowned political, social and literary figures attended the celebration. Among them were Tahira Aurangzeb, a renowned political worker and president ladies wing (RWP division), members of Parliament Lubna Rehan, Tehseen Fawad, Zaib-un-nisa Awan(social and political worker), Qurat-ul-Ain(Assistant commissioner) and Tariq Rahim(ADC), Humayum Iqbal(Director colleges, RWP division)and Rana Javid (Deputy Director colleges, RWP) and Prof. Doctor Naheed Zia (famous Educationist and pro vice chancellor Fatima Jinnah women University). The prestigious ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by Holy recitation of Naat.
A very impressive English skit was presented by the student of 3rd year. The topic was “The abusive violation of women’s rights. Famous poems by the student in English and Urdu language were presented. The students portrayed various professions of women in a dignified manner. The dignitaries shared their valuable thoughts with the students. They urged students to take active part in society and perform their role in effective manner.
In the end College Principal, Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti shared her views related to the occasion and thanked the worthy guests.
