The holders of arms licences have been asked by the government to get them verified by Nadra. The authorities have also published ads in newspapers in which the holders are warned of dire consequences, if arms licenses are not updated. I am one of the holders and the current situation has left me in a fix.
The problem is: The licence was issued from Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) decades back and was registered in Punjab. The renewals were done in a timely manner through post offices. Now, the post offices are no longer entertaining us for the renewal of licences. The Ministry of Interior should look into this matter and issue necessary instructions so that we can get our licenses renewed. That we should go to GB to get our arms licenses renewed is an impractical suggestion.
