Use of copter by Imran must be probed, says Sherpao
CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) head Aftab Sherpao on Sunday said the use of government helicopter by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should be probed.
“And the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should punish him according to the law,” he added.
He was speaking to reporters after a meeting of party’s office-bearers to review the preparations for the 43rd death anniversary of Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao that would be marked February 11.
QWP provincial head Sikandar Sherpao was also present on the occasion. “Imran Khan was always accompanied by the chief minister or a minister whenever he travelled in the helicopter so that it could be proved that it was not used for political activities,” he maintained.
He also condemned the suicide attack on the security forces in Kabal tehsil in Swat and expressed sorrow over the loss of life. He said the security forces had rendered matchless sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
Sherpao added that terrorism played havoc with life and property of the people, adding, such cowardly attack couldn’t deter the nation’s resolve to fight the menace of terrorism.
Aftab Sherpao said the nation was united to fight terrorism till its logical end.
Criticising the PTI-led provincial government, he said that poor law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had exposed the tall claims of the rulers as they had failed to deliver on election pledges. He noted with concern the accused in the Sharifan Bibi and Asma Rani cases couldn’t be brought to justice.
