DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf suspended DSP Baghbanpura and SHO Harbanspura after an incident of break-in at a private bank in the Harbanspura police limits on Thursday.
Chief Minister had taken notice of the incident and ordered action against negligent officials.
Police have registered a case against the unknown accused persons on the complaint of Ahmad Paracha, Operations Manager of bank.
Some unknown accused persons broke a wall adjacent to the ATM of a bank near Aziz Puli and entered the bank on Tuesday night, stole two guns, one pistol and bullets of the security of the bank. The operations manager told the police that when they reached the bank next morning, they found the door of the ATM and the western wall of the bank broken. The thieves stole weapons and damaged the ATM, he added. No money was stolen, he maintained.
According to the statement of the complainant to the police, there was no guard appointed for the security of the bank.
The DIG took notice of the incident and suspended SHO Harbanspura police station Inspector Malik Raheel Amjad, and DSP Baghbanpura circle Qaisar Mushtaq.
