KARACHI: Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, organised by Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab, is to be held from February 15-18. The event will be sponsored by Indus Motor Company. An MoU was signed between Indus Motor Company (IMC) and TDCP in Lahore the other day.
Around nine foreigners from Gulf countries and Thailand, in addition to about 100 local drivers, are expected to take part in the event this year. The rally’s 450-km track will be divided into two loops.
CEO IMC Ali Asghar Jamali said: “Platforms like these offer a unique opportunity to the motorsports enthusiasts of the country to showcase their talent. This also gives an opportunity to test the durability and reliability of our vehicles on various terrains. We feel proud that over the years Toyota vehicles have become the preferred choice for many rally drivers.” The qualifying rounds will be held on the 15th and the final race is to take place from 16th to 18th.
