PWF names wrestlers for Commonwealth Games
LAHORE: The Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) has named wrestlers for participation in the Commonwealth Games 2018.The wrestlers were selected after trials held at Pakistan Sports Board coaching Center Lahore on Wednesday. The selected wresters will take part in Commonwealth Games 2018 to be held at Gold Cost, Australia.
The selected wrestlers are: Muhammad Bilal 57kg, Abdul Wahab 65kg, Muhammad Asad Butt 74kg, Muhammad Inam 86kg, Umair Ahmad 97kg and Tayab Raza 125kg.APP adds: “The team was selected following one day trials held here at the national training and coaching centre,” said Arshad Sattar, Secretary, PWF while talking to APP. He said top notch grapplers belonging to all the affiliated units of the PWF participated in the trials which were watched by the national selection committee. “Selection was based on merit keeping in the individual talent and potential of the wrestlers and their previous showing in the national and international events home and abroad,” he said.He said the selected team will undergo camp training under the watchful eyes of national coaches till departure of team to Australia.
