Population growth and inadequate waste management practices have made solid waste management a daunting task. Huge piles of solid waste scattered on streets have not only polluted the environment, but they also pose serious threats to human health. Landfill is an environmentally-safe method for the disposal of waste.

It provides protection against surface and groundwater contamination. Garbage should be collected on a daily basis and the same should be discarded in landfills. This will help tackle the garbage crisis which has made the lives of people miserable.
