70 women teachers promoted
Islamabad: The Federal Directorate of Education has promoted 70 women elementary school teachers (BPS-14) as trained graduate teachers (BPS-16). They all will be on probation for one year in line with the Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion and Transfer) Rules, 1973. The promotions were approved during a meeting chaired by FDE director general Hasnat Ahmad Qureshi and attended by FDE Director (Schools) Saqib Shahab and Capital Administration and Development Division deputy secretary (administration) Chaudhry Ramzan.
All these teachers will be adjusted to the BPS-16 vacant posts in Islamabad's public sector educational institutions. Currently, around 300 TGT positions are lying vacant in Islamabad. The ESTs take fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes and TGTs ninth and 10th ones. The FDE oversees Islamabad’s government schools and colleges totalling more than 400.
