RIS holds Olympiad
Islamabad: Roots International School (RIS) organised a remarkable event of the year ‘RIS-MIUC Olympiad 2018,’ says a press release.
Two mega events in this regard were organised at the state-of-the-art campuses’ of RIS, Wellington H-8 branch and Richmond DHA-II branch. The first day of the event concluded with full enthusiasm and energy and the campuses were buzzing with excitement with hundreds of children from the twin cities and other regions participating in the event.
RIS, living up to its legacy of excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities, organised this one of a kind event which included a diverse range of activities; from sports to literary activities. Football, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, debate and drama competitions were highlights of the day. ‘Light the Fire Within’ is the theme of this years’ Olympiad. The event started with a spectacular opening ceremony where following the tradition of Olympics, participating students of all schools marched and lit the Olympiad torch with their school flags in hand. The second day of Olympiad will begin with semi-finals and finals of the sports and art competitions.
National heroes and famous personalities of the country including national cricketers Aizaz Cheema and Faisal Iqbal graced the event with their presence. The famous ICC empire Mian Aslam and senator Saeedul Hasan Mandukhel were also present in this mega event. The first day of the event concluded with a spectacular social event which reenergised the students and geared them up for the second day of the event.
