Wapda chief meets French envoy
LAHORE: Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) on Friday called on French Ambassador to Pakistan Marc Barety and discussed with him the matters of mutual cooperation for optimal utilisation of water and hydropower resources in Pakistan through various Wapda projects, a statement said.
The Wapda chairman thanked the French government for providing financial assistance through French Development Agency (AFD) to implement Wapda projects, it added.
Highlighting the significance of foreign investment for the construction of water and hydropower projects, he said the projects in both the sectors offer excellent investment opportunities, which can be availed of by the financial institutions like that of AFD for mutual benefits.
