Islamabad: The executive board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Thursday approved holding of an inquiry against the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Muhammad Aslam Afghani. The inquiry has been ordered to probe allegations about whether Afghani’s appointment as the CEO of DRAP is in contravention to established rules and regulations. Afghani is also alleged to have inflicted losses to the tune of billions of Rupees to the national treasury by misusing his authority and influence. It was perhaps against this backdrop that the CEO of DRAP called a press conference on Thursday to highlight his achievements over the past three years.
