LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday reserved verdict on maintainability of a petition seeking disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. A local citizen had moved the petition that Shahbaz Sharif besides being Punjab Chief Minister was chairman of Punjab Mass transit Authority. He said the law didn’t allow anyone to hold a dual public office. The petitioner said that the Punjab chief minister had lost his eligibility under Article 63 of the Constitution. He asked the court to disqualify him for the alleged violation of law. After hearing initial arguments, the court reserved verdict on maintainability of the writ petition.
