PESHAWAR: The Jinnah College for Women and Postgraduate Department of the University of Peshawar (UoP) Tuesday qualified for the final of Inter-College Girls T20 Championship played at the cricket ground of Jinnah College for Women.
Jinnah College defeated Government Girls College Nahqi, Charsadda, by seven wickets in the first semi-final. Batting first, Govt Degree College Nahqi set a target of 111 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Roma (35), Reema (27) and Saima (29) played well for Govt College Nahqi. Bushra and Rabia took two wickets each for Jinnah College.Jinnah College chased down the target for the loss of just three wickets in 16.4 overs. Uroosa scored 46 runs. Gul Makai (31) and Bushra Khattak (29) also played well.
Meanwhile, Postgraduate Department of the University of Peshawar defeated Government Girls College, Hayatabad by 17 runs in the second semi-final.Aleena scored 53 runs to help University of Peshawar setup 103-run target for the opponents. Ambareen made 35 while Mehreen hit up 29 for their team.
In reply, Govt Girls College Hayatabad were bowled out for just 86 runs. Zainab scored 29 while Rabia made 27 runs. Maha claimed three while Aneela and Ambareen shared two wickets each for University of Peshawar. University of Peshawar Deputy Director (Sports) Ms Chaman Gul was the chief guest on the occasion.
