As we cry tears of sorrow, our tears can’t catch up with the tragedies that we face. We expressed our grief and condemned the horrific rape and murder of little Zainab. However we couldn’t do anything to put an end to such crimes. Only a few days later another similar tragedy took place in Mardan: four-year-old Asma was kidnapped, raped and brutally murdered. This shows how vulnerable our children are in our society. It is unfortunate that killers of these two girls haven’t been caught yet.
Voices that demand justice are often met with false promises by the authorities who vow to apprehend the culprit, but fail to do so. But we cannot remain silent and let things be. We don’t want to lose more innocent people. Until when will we mourn the death of our children? The government must speed up the process and catch the people involved in such heinous acts. The murderer should not be roaming free. We don’t want more tears, we want justice.

More than 10 days have passed, but the law-enforcement agencies have not been able to catch Zainab’s killer. Why cannot the authorities speed up the investigation and catch the culprit at the earliest?
We need to take remedial measures to provide safety to our children. It is time the government took strict action against those who are guilty of committing the crime.
