BAHAWALPUR: Former Punjab governor and PPP South Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood has said that proposed 22nd amendment to the constitution will be useless for the upcoming Senate elections.
He was talking to media at the residence of PPP district information secretary Muhammad Saleem Bhatti here on Monday. Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood said that the PPP stance was very clear on the proposed 22nd amendment and majority of political parties were supporting the PPP stance as it was not a suitable time for the amendment. Commenting on horsetrading issue, he suggested that such a bad word should not be used for the respected members of the Parliament because constitution allows them to cast their vote according to their conscience. Earlier, Ahmad Mehmood visited the residences of Muhammad Saleem Bhatti and the PPP stalwart Sadiq Ali Noshad here where he offered fateha for the mothers of both party leaders. He also chaired a meeting of the PPP Bahawalpur Division office-bearers at a local hotel where he discussed the party organisational issues and asked the party leaders to complete the party tehsil level organisation within three months.
