BISHAM: The local activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and other political parties on Saturday criticised the Prime Minister’s Adviser Amir Muqam for what they argued his disinterest in solving the problems facing the people in his native Shangla district.

Speaking at a press conference, PML-N activists Syed Wasi Shah, Ibrar Lala and others criticised the party’s provincial president for his indifferent attitude towards his native area.

They said that Amir Muqam had announced the completion of the 132KV gridstation at Shang, Bisham, in three months but it could not be constructed despite the passage of four years. They said that Amir Muqam as an advisor to Prime Minister had the authority to arrange funds for the project but he could not honour his commitment and caused embarrassment to the party workers. “The people are taunting us for the delay in the construction of the gridstation and other broken promises of Amir Muqam,” said Wasi Shah.

He said that Amir Muqam was inaugurating development projects in Swat, Swabi, Peshawar and other districts and monitoring their progress but has ignored Shangla.

“We feel disappointed. PML-N supporters are also frustrated. We have mostly heard hollow promises and have seen nothing practical,” he maintained. The PML-N activists complained that up to 20 hours electricity loadshedding was being carried out in parts of Shangla. They termed it unjust.
