Burki Road farmhouse worker found dead

LAHORE: A 24-year-old youth was found dead at a farmhouse on Burki Road at Hadyara on Thursday. The deceased identified as Amir Shahzad hailed from Sargodha and worked as a cook at the farmhouse. His brother, Zaheer ul Hassan, is a gardener there. Zaheer found his brother lying dead with blood around his mouth and head.

Police believed that Amir might have died of brain haemorrhage as no bruises were found on the body. Police have removed the body to morgue. cells seized: Sherakot investigation police arrested three thieves and recovered loot from their possession.

The arrested accused were identified as Liaqat, Sajjad Ali and Muhammad Suleman. Police recovered 63 software devices, 35 cell phones, a bike, a laptop and a pistol from their possession.

Road accidents: A total of 723 road accidents were reported in the provincial monitoring cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) from all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Reportedly, 06 lives were lost and 490 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals.

However, some 367 victims with minor injuries were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid. According to the statistics, 379 including 13 underage drivers, 112 pedestrians and 385 passengers were among the victims of these road accidents. It showed that 174 accidents were reported in Lahore, 63 in Faisalabad and 48 in Multan. A total of 863 victims were affected by road accidents including 686 males and 177 females. Whereas, 575 motorbikes, 113 auto rickshaws, 72 motorcars, 39 vans, 10 passenger buses, 31 trucks and 83 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the aforesaid road accidents.

Turkish delegation: A delegation of Turkish police officers Thursday visited DIG Operations office. The DIG apprised the delegation about operation room, public facilitation centre and other reforms. He told the guests that Lahore police had bridged the gap with the public through revolutionary reforms.

Traffic awareness: A traffic education team set up an awareness camp at Gajju Matta on Thursday. The team distributed pamphlets and gifts among students and citizens. The team on the directions of CTO educated rickshaw drivers about traffic laws and the dangers of underage driving.

trafficker arrested: Anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of FIA Thursday arrested a notorious human smuggler who was involved in sending people illegally to Russia. According to an FIA official, the accused human smuggler was identified as Mudassir Asghar of Lahore. Mudassir was involved in heinous and exploitative crime of smuggling of people to Russia.

The official said the accused had extorted huge sum of money on the pretext of sending people abroad. An FIR has been registered against him and investigation is in progress.
