Pakistan face India in Blind Cricket World Cup final
LAHORE: Pakistan will take on arch rivals India in the final of 5th Blind Cricket World Cup to be played on Saturday at Sharjah. Pakistan booked their place in the final after they beat Sri Lanka in the semifinal by 156 runs.
Pakistan smashed 489 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 40 overs. The total was bolstered by Mahmood Rashid with 139 runs and was supported by Nisar Ali’s 99 and Badar Munir’s 79.
In reply Sri Lanka team could muster 333 runs for seven wickets in 40 overs. Pakistan will now play India in the final to be played on January 20. In the other semifinal, India beat Bangladesh by eight wickets to move into the final of the World Cup.
Bangladesh made 256 runs against India. They were bowled out in 38.5 overs. India in reply achieved the score in 23 overs, losing 2 wickets. Ganish scored 112 from the Indian batting line-up while Depak Malik scored 53 runs.
