Sugarcane growers’ protest enters third day

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of sugarcane growers Wednesday continued their protest against a local sugar mills administration, sugarcane brokers’ mafia and Tehsil Chishtian administration on the third day outside the mills at Chishtian.The protesters raised slogans against the Punjab government and sugar mafia. They announced continuing their sit-in till the acceptance of their demands.
3 MORE INFLUENZA PATIENTS ADMITTED TO BVH: Three more seasonal influenza patients were admitted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital ( BVH ) on Wednesday. Now there are eight influenza patients in the BVH and five of them are H1N1 positive. According to MS Dr Aziz ur Rehman, a total 41 H1N1 virus patients were admitted to the hospital during the last 25 days.
