A research held by a Karachi University team reveals the shocking facts regarding the contamination of powdered milk. The sample chosen by the team was found to be contaminated with high concentration of milk. Since last year, many organisations have been raising the issue of contaminated milk. The dry milk used in the production of bakery products and other sweets is laced with harmful components including lead.
Many households use powdered milk for preparing tea. In fact, children also drink this harmful milk on a daily basis. Why is there no mechanism to check the quality of food being sold in the city? People are suffering from serious diseases due to consumption of contaminated milk. The government must take immediate action to tackle this problem which has put the lives of hundreds of people, including children, in danger.
