‘Over 2,500 polling stations of Shaheed Benazirabad to be declared sensitive’

NAWABSHAH: Regional Election Commissioner, Abdul Rehman Arain said CCTVs would be installed at the most sensitive polling stations during general elections 2018 throughout the country.

He was attending a briefing given by Additional Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad division Imtiaz Ali Rajpar. The Regional Election Commissioner said efforts will be made to control irregularities and to maintain the law and order during the election. He said 2,572 polling stations of Shaheed Benazirabad division are proposed to be declared sensitive.

He said a control room would be set up to monitor polling through the CCTVs. The additional commissioner assured that solar panels would be installed at the sensitive polling stations where electricity is not available. He said information about provision of internet facility would also be collected from the cellular phone companies.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners Shaheed Benazirabad Nouman Siddqiue, district Naushehro Feroze Tahir Hussain Jappa, Sanghar district Zhoaib Mushtaque, SSP district Naushehro Feroze Imran Qureshi, SSP Sanghar Rao Arif Ali, Additional Commissioner-II Haq Nawaz Shar and district election officer Zahid Hussain Bhutto.
