NAB starts probe against MNA Safdar

MANSEHRA: The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a formal inquiry against MNA Captain (Retd) Mohammad Safdar, who has been accused of embezzlement and receiving kickbacks of Rs2 billion in development schemes executed in his constituency. “Yes, we have launched a formal inquiry against Safdar and started physical verification of the development schemes and projects executed in NA-21,” said an official on Tuesday.
A combined investigation team of NAB being led by an officer of 19 grade visited Oghi and started inspecting various roads and other development schemes in the area which were executed by Captain Safdar, the son-in-law of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
