Woman, two children found dead in Green Town house

LAHORE: A woman and her two children were found dead in their house at Green Town on Tuesday. The victims were identified as Aysha, 24, wife of Usman, Ayan Ali, 2 and Noor, 8, residents of Jeva Park, Green Town. Usman, who was living along with his wife and children in a rented house, found his wife and two kids dead in a room. Police suspected that some poisonous substance might have killed them. Aysha was the second wife of Usman. Police have detained Usman for questioning as he had had dinner with his family and disappeared two days back. On Tuesday, he returned home and found his wife and two children dead. There were no bruises on the bodies, police said. The bodies have been removed to morgue.

censured: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) Additional IG Amjad Javed Saleemi on Tuesday censured SP Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta and Sargodha SP Hassan Jamil Haider for rising incidents of dacoity, and unsatisfactory recovery of weapons.

While reviewing the performance of PHP at CPO, the additional IG directed both SPs to improve their progress within one month. SSP Babar Bakht Qureshi, all regional SPs and district DSPs attended the session.

Amjad Javed also told all the SPs and DSPs to improve their performance. He directed that the officers and officials posted in other departments be relieved early. He said that officers should behave with their subordinates diligently so that they might perform their duties with commitment.

He was briefed by the officers that refresher courses were being completed to enhance efficiency of the force. They said 85 percent courses related to physical fitness had been completed.

In the fitness courses, 75 percent personnel were declared fit. The efficient proceedings of PHP during patrolling and seizure of weapons from criminals increased 47 percent in 2017 in comparison to 2016.

The additional IG expressed satisfaction over the annual performance of PHP. He advised the officers to improve the traffic management system to curtail road accidents. He said that efforts to arrest proclaimed offenders should be boosted. He emphasised upon early completion of under-construction patrolling posts.

BISE: Cyber Crimes Wing of FIA Lahore Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspect who threatened to blow up Gujranwala Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) building with a bomb.

According to Deputy Director, FIA Cyber Crimes Wing, Khalid Anees, the FIA received a complaint from Gujranwala BISE secretary the board received an email on January 10 wherein it was warned that the premises of the board would be blown up with a bomb within three days.

The complainant, he said, also shared the email id (khhassan1299@gmail) from which the email was sent. He said a team was constituted who on Tuesday successfully rounded up accused Khawaja Muhammad Hassan from Peoples Colony. According to the FIA official, all digital media in the possession of the accused was also taken in custody for further investigation.

two die: Two people were killed in different road accidents on Tuesday. A 30-year-old bike rider, Rizwan of Chungi Amarsadhu, was killed by a rashly-driven tractor-trolley in the Kot Lakhpat area. A 40-year-old man, Jani, was killed by a speeding car in the Naseerabad area. Police have removed the bodies to morgue.

Gamblers: Mustafabad police claimed to have arrested eight gamblers and seized stake money and cell phones. The arrested accused included Babar,Kashif, Shahid, Shahzad and Pervez.

accidents: Total 772 road accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 from all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Two lives were lost and 533 people suffered injuries in the road accidents. The injured were removed to hospitals. However, some 326 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were provided with first aid by the emergency medical teams.
