Hazara XI beat Islamabad Club by 61 runs
ISLAMABAD: Hazara XI defeated Islamabad Club by 61 runs in a match of the Super Pakistan Veteran Cricket Trust Cricket Tournament here at the Islamabad Club, says a press release.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Hazara XI scored 231 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 25 overs.Arshad Rehman was their leading batsman with a contribution of an unbeaten 67 that was studded with six fours and five sixes. Others who batted well were M Usman (35), Aman Khan (34), M Zia (33) and Ajmal Khan (28).
Justice (r) Ejaz Yousaf and Lt Gen (r) Muneer Hafeez claimed two wickets each for 31 and 40 runs, respectively. Shahab Ali and M Shahid had a wicket apiece.Islamabad Club, in reply, could manage just 170-4 in the allotted overs. M Hasan top-scored with 63 while their other notable batsmen were Ahsan (29), Shahab Ali (25 not out) and Mazhar (24 not out).Sikander (1-17), Shamraiz Khan (1-18), Arshad Rehman (1-23) and Saleem Khan (1-25) were the wicket-takers for Hazara XI.
