PTI moves Pemra, Press Council
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Monday formally lodged a complaint with the Pemra and Press Council of Pakistan against what it claimed provocative and fallacious campaign of Jang and Geo Group against Imran Khan.
The PTI maintained that despite clear repudiation of accusations by the chairman PTI, frivolous reporting of Jang and Geo Group continued targeting the integrity and repute of Imran Khan. “Imran Khan and Maneka family had categorically refuted the reports of any Nikkah ceremony been held but despite this a beguiling campaign is on the loose,” it said.
The party asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and Press Council of Pakistan to immediately take action against the said news group and seek explanation over ‘defamatory’ campaign against the chairman PTI. The party vowed to take the issue to the court if responsible institutions failed to address its grievances.
