Pollution ‘NH&MP, environment dept to work jointly to control pollution’
LAHORE: National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) and environment protection department will work together to control pollution emitted from the vehicles, said Punjab Environment Protection Minister Begum Zakia Shah Nawaz Khan during her talk at NH&MP Road Safety Programme "An Hour with the Guest” at Motorway Police Babu Sabu, here on Monday.
DIG Motorway Police Mirza Faran Baig, SSP Masroor Alam, male and lady police officers and a large number of officials were also present. Addressing the officers, Minister Begum Zakia Shah said motorway police’s strict implementation of law on motorway and highways is the major reasons people observe law. She said motorway police and environment protection department would launch to sensitise people about reasons of environmental pollution from smoke emitted by the vehicles and importance of timely tuning of vehicles.
She further said that law violators always fear from honest officers and for the same reasons people followed laws on motorways. She appreciated the role of motorway police being as most efficient department of the country. On this occasion DIG Mirza Faran Baig said that officers of NH&MP will launch a campaign through mobile education units to create awareness regarding environment protection.
