Wall of kindness
Our society is driven by what is new on social media. We talk about topics that are being discussed on social networking sites. A couple of years back, we set up the ‘wall of kindness’ at various places across the country. The concept was simple: people can hang their unwanted clothing items on the wall so that those in need can have them for free. People, who wanted to help others, left warm jackets, shirts, shawls and other eatables.
However, after a short while, this kind activity which was a positive step taken for the welfare of the needy abruptly stopped. The passion of people died down after a few months. Now, there is no trace of the wall of kindness. No one is leaving their clothes to help the poor. Good things should not be short-lived. Following a trend for a good cause is good, but we should take all such initiatives in a serious manner.
