ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday asked its provincial, regional and district chapters to gear up for the party’s participation in Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s protest movement.
The direction was given to the party cadres at PTI core committee meeting, chaired by Chairman Imran Khan which also reviewed the overall political situation. Imran had announced on Thursday that his party would take part in PAT drive for justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy and that he would lead his party. Hence, the two 'political cousins' will be together again.
The core committee decided to take Hudaibya Paper Mills case to its logical end and has announced to approach the Supreme Court under the principle of public interest, if National Accountability Bureau did not take action.
The PTI leaders discussed in detail the merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, PTI core committee criticised the approval of federal government’s bill to extend jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and high court to Fata, terming it insufficient and demanded to implement the Fata Reforms Package wholly in the tribal areas. Warning the government, PTI core committee asserted that continuous deprivation of rights would compel the party to resist and retaliate to get the justified demands fulfilled.
According to the CTD spokesman, the two were attempting to enter Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
