MANSEHRA: The body of a girl student was found hanging with the ceiling of a room adjacent to a cattle pen in Khel village in the limits of Pulrah Police Station on Friday night.
“We launched investigation into the incident to know what had actually happened to her. We also took the body to hospital for autopsy,” Inspector Jamal Zeb, spokesman of the police, said.
“The medical report has confirmed that she was killed. We are lodging the first information report (FIR) under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and the perpetrators would be brought to justice,” he added.
The medical report suggested that the body bore bruises and it seemed the victim resisted being hanged with the rope. “We are going to lodge the FIR against father of the victim girl as he had registered a case stating that his daughter committed suicide,” Jamal Zeb said.
He maintained that it would be premature to determine the motive behind the murder.
Jamal Zeb denied that the victim was put to death after being sexually assaulted, saying the medical report didn’t confirm it.
