Case against Raja Pervez adjourned
LAHORE: The case of illegal recruitments against former premier Raja Pervez Ashraf was adjourned on Friday as the accountability court judge Justice Najam-ul-Hassan was on leave.
The court had indicted former premier Raja Pervez Ashraf in a reference for allegedly recruiting more than 400 employees in Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) in a blatant violation of merit. According to the NAB reference, Raja Pervez Ashraf in connivance with other accused persons recruited 437 people without taking merit into consideration. Moreover, the accused hired even those persons who had not applied for the job in Gepco.
After the hearing, Raja Pervez while talking to the media said that double standards of justice are prevailing in the country. He said that his name is on ECL while other former premier’s name is not on the ECL which is an example of double standards.
