SEHWAN: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday criticised his political rivals, saying there is no real progress in Punjab beyond advertisements. He said political orphans provided jobs to opportunists.

Bilawal was addressing a large public gathering after inaugurating the 4th Satellite Center of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Sehwan. The PPP chairman claimed that during the last five years, when the two so-called major political parties were busy in the GT Road politics, the Pakistan People’s Party was establishing state of the art hospitals and facilities including cardiac care hospitals, kidney and liver transplant centers and cancer treatment facilities at various cities of Sindh where expensive procedures are being offered free of charge to the poor.

He said “When the PPP was establishing state of the art health facilities in Sindh, Punjab Chief Minister Show-baz (Shahbaz) Sharif established only one hospital in Lahore, which is still incomplete. I want to assure people of Punjab that this hospital would be completed by PPP after coming into power in the 2018 general elections”.

He said patients suffering from cardiac problems in Sehwan and the adjoining areas are being provided the facility of ‘angioplasty in emergency’ in their home town for the last two weeks after the establishment of the fourth Satellite Center of NICVD in Sehwan, the constituency of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Besides, Sindh health minister Dr. Sikandar Mandhro, Sindh health secretary Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho and the Executive Director NICVD Prof. Nadeem Qamar were also present on the occasion.

“We have created one of the largest heart attack management facilities of the world in Sindh, installed one of the most advanced cancer-treatment facility of Cyber Knife and running a liver-transplant center where German experts are serving the people of Sindh”, he claimed.

A large number of party workers, MNAs and MPAs, provincial ministers, PPP office-bearers and local people had gathered at the open air theater in Sehwan to see their party Chairman and raised welcoming slogans. Bhutto bitterly criticized the political opponents in Sindh and elsewhere in the country, saying those criticizing the Sindh government for not having healthcare facilities at the time of explosion at the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in 2017, should come and see that his party’s government has established an advanced healthcare facility.

“Only the PPP has carried out development works in Sindh since it came into power as provision of health facilities was among the top priorities of my grandfather Z. A Bhutto and mother Benazir Bhutto, he said. Otherwise, no other government carried any development project to facilitate people of Sindh in their tenure”, he remarked. Criticizing the ruling PML-N and PTI, he said those so-called big parties are busy in street politics, while the PPP government is serving the people in line with the vision of its martyred leaders. Bilawal also criticised the political alliance against PPP in Sindh, saying the alliance comprising three former chief mMinisters, several ministers and so-called nationalists are actually working against their own motherland.

Felicitating Sindh Chief Minister and Executive Director of NICVD for setting up cardiac care center in Sindh, he said Sehwan is a land of peace for whole mankind . Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his address claimed that PPP would sweep the next general elections from whole of Pakistan because of its ‘remarkable’ performance in Sindh where 50 percent of patients are coming from other provinces to get health services. “I want to inform you that people from 23 countries have come to Sindh seeking cancer treatment because Sindh is the only place where most expensive and modern cancer treatment facility, Cyber Knife is being provided free of charge”, he claimed.

On the occasion, he announced provision of employment to people of Sindh on merit as directed by the PPP Chairman and added despite limited resources, Sindh government is one of the most performing governments in the entire Pakistan.

Executive Director NICVD Prof. Nadeem Qamar praised the PPP Chairman and Sindh government for supporting and providing material resources to the NICVD to establish their centers in different cities and towns of Sindh and vowed that after Sehwan, they would make Sukkur NICVD functional in the coming month, which would be the second largest heart attack management facility in the world after the main NICVD at Karachi.
