Cold wave, cloudy weather to persist
LAHORE: Cold wave with partly cloudy weather continued to persist in the provincial metropolis on Friday while Met Office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said a shallow westerly wave was present over northern parts of the country and was likely to persist for the next 12 hours. They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while dense foggy conditions were likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
Rainfall was recorded in several cities including, Malamjabba (11 mm), Dir (8 mm), Saidu Sharif (4 mm), Kalam (2 mm), Balakot, Kakul and Pattan (1 mm), Bagrote (04 mm) and Murree (3 mm).
Snowfall was also recorded at Malamjabba (05 inch), Kalam, Bagrote, Hunza and Murree (1 inch each). Friday's lowest temperature was recorded at Skardu where mercury dipped to -08°C. In Lahore, maximum temperature was was 15°C and minimum 4.3°C. Humidity level was 58 percent.
