LAHORE
A 25-year-old girl was shot dead by her husband in Shadbagh on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Fakhara Bibi, wife of Nadim Butt of Chah Miran Shadbagh. Police said accused Nadim returned from the UK sometimes back had an exchange of hot words with his wife over an unknown issue and later shot at and wounded her and escaped. Injured Fakhara was rushed to a local hospital where she yielded to her wounds. No case was registered till filing of the report.
FOUND DEAD: A 60-year-old man was found dead in the limits of Ravi Road police. Some locals spotted the body lying in Ali Park and informed the police. The deceased was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs, the police claimed.
FAKE INJECTIONS SEIZED: Sandha police arrested three people and recovered fake injections, packing material and a seller machine from their possession. The arrested people were identified as Zulfiqar, Shah Zain and Muhammad Arshad. A raiding team led by Sandha SHO Inspector Hammad Akhtar carried out a raid in the area of Sham Nagar and arrested the accused.
Police have registered a case. Similarly, police arrested a bookie identified as Osama Suhail and recovered a laptop, a computer, a TV set, a decoder, four PTCL phone sets, four cellphones and two gambling register from his possession.
Youth dies: A 28-year-old man died after his motorbike hit a pole when he was doing wheelie in Racecourse Police limits on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Asad of Shadbagh. He was doing wheelie along with his friends near Jail Road Underpass when he lost control of the bike and hit a pole and sustained injuries.
ELECTROCUTED: A Wapda line-man was electrocuted in Nishtar Colony Police limits. The man was identified as Hakim Ali of Kasur. He is survived by a wife and five children. The victim was repairing a transformer when he was electrocuted.
Health facilities: Junior Police Employees/Officials are our real fighting force and asset and the department will leave no stone unturned in providing them health facilities.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while chairing a meeting held at the Central Police Office Lahore regarding police official’s health facilities.
