LHCBA asks LHC CJ to transfer registrar
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Saturday asked the Lahore High Court chief justice to transfer LHC Registrar Syed Khursheed Anwar Rizvi from the principal seat to some regional bench.
In a letter, written to the LHC CJ, the bar leaders warned the judicial authorities that in case of refusal to their genuine demand, the lawyers would go on strike and boycott the court proceedings.
Rizvi has always misled the judicial authorities since he assumed the charge as the LHC registrar, adding that he was responsible for tarnishing cordial relations between the bar and the bench, the letter said.
They pointed out that Chief Justice Main Saqib Nisar, in suo moto proceedings into Multan’s new judicial complex issue, also held Rizvi responsible. They said Rizvi had always tried to worsen the situation whenever any misunderstanding arose between the bar and the bench.
The LHC registrar was behind the refusal of cases filing in Okara, transfer of cases from Shorkot to Jhang and the cases which were fixed for hearing in Bahawalnagar, but shifted to Pakpattan, the letter said.
The bar leaders also held the registrar responsible for lack of supply of edibles to the bar, as it was an old practice that vehicles used to supply the edibles on the bar premises.
